The Power of Love

All things that are loved awaken in us their own powers. If I love (or like) a chair, I become a chair - a support and comfort - to others. Straight things make me straight, and graceful things make me graceful, if I love them. The cat makes me a cat in such of its excellences as I admire and love; the dog, a dog; the saint, a saint; and so all the variety and gamut of being. Japa and mantra are voluntary continuation of good companionship in the mind, and carry the benefits of remembrance.
