Self-knowledge is the thing, for the totality, the whole treasure of life lies within yourself. Self-knowledge is to perceive your own mind. It is to learn about cravings or desires, your urges and pursuits, the hidden as well as the open. There is no learning where there is the accumulation of knowledge. With self-knowledge the mind is free to be still - Only then is there coming into being.
